Health and Wellbeing

Building on our ongoing community consultation projects and capturing the changing lives of those living close to the Olympics development, the health and wellbeing of the population will be mapped and evaluated over time against the specific Olympic-related projects designed to enhance health and wellbeing.

The archive will host contemporary research at the UEL Institute of Health and Human Development currently funded by the GLA and Wellcome Trust to provide multimedia documentation of the barriers faced by local communities across London in making healthy lifestyle choices in relation to sport, physical activity and mental wellbeing.

The IHHD is also carrying out longitudinal, survey-based and qualitative research to describe current health related lifestyles and barriers to change, and findings from these will join the archive. Together, these will provide a unique linked set of materials describing key determinants of health and wellbeing in the five Olympic boroughs and across London for comparative context.
