Community Engagement

This content will use the legacy indicators as background. We will conduct focus groups in each of the 5 Olympic host boroughs, asking people questions such as:

How any changes in indicators are affecting them.

Their general awareness of and participation in any new policy implementations at the local level relating to the Olympics.

How they perceive the Olympics.

The focus groups provide an added level of insight for those interested in the social impact of the Games-led regeneration in East London. The groups provide the missing link between quantitative data based on socio-economic factors 'likely to influence people's lifestyle and wellbeing' and qualitative data showing how populations actually experience, perceive and respond to those socio-economic factors. This is an area which has been little researched so far.

This film is about some of the research we carried out - its a short film focusing on people's hopes and fears about the Olympics, and how it makes them feel.
