How to Apply for Teacher Training

Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) Primary and Secondary

All applications for teacher training must go via the Graduate Teacher Training Registry (GTTR). Do not apply directly to a university. The GTTR will forward your application to each of your choices in turn. Contact details for the GTTR are as follows:

Graduate Teacher Training Registry (GTTR)
Rosehill, New Barn Lane,
Cheltenham,
Gloucestershire, GL52 3LZ.

Telephone: 0870 1122205
Website: www.gttr.ac.uk

Apply as early as possible (preferably a year in advance). In order to find school placements we need to have interviewed applicants before the school summer holidays. Please allow sufficient time for your referee to complete the form and for the GTTR to forward it to us. Your referee should be somebody who has known you in a professional or an academic capacity.

Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP)

Once you have found a school that is willing to employ you for the duration of your training, please contact the GTP Administrator on 020 8223 2268 for an application form.

Overseas Teacher Training (OTT)

Once you are employed in a school that can offer you support on the programme and are teaching the subject in which you obtained your degree please contact the OTT Administrator on 020 8223 2268.
