Employability
All of those completing the vast majority of our programmes are in employment or further study within six months of graduating.
We take preparation for work very seriously, including ED2001 Professional Development module.
This is level 2 core module taken by all of our undergraduate students.
Content includes:
- analysis and assessment of factors which affect employment and career planning and study at higher education;
- identification of key competences: skills audit and development and individual employment history;
- employment research: job vacancy and application processes and appropriate documentation;
- career Management Skills including self reflection, self promotion, interview and self marketing skills;
- analysis of group work and group processes; communication, negotiation;
- responsibilities and relationships; project and self management;
- extension of Personal Development Plan informed by effective reflection and research into a relevant field;
- development of appropriate academic skills / research skills.
Teacher Training Students
There is an annual Careers Fair where primary and secondary trainees have the opportunity to talk to employers. This includes a session on how to apply for jobs.
