Social change and the extensive programme of institutional change through ‘modernisation’ have radically affected the experiences of front line workers in health and social care. CSWR aims to understand, assess and evaluate the emotional impact of these changes on professionals and organisations through innovative methods that promote ‘practice near’ research. Adapting the Tavistock tradition of research to contemporary issues, CSWR aims to understand, assess and evaluate the impact of these changes on service users, professionals and organisations. Making sense of these processes enhances practice and extends the evidence base for policy initiatives.
