Why Study International Tourism Management as part of a Combined Honours Degree?

International Tourism Management is delivered by the Business School at the University of East London and will appeal to all those who wish to work in the Tourism and Leisure Industries. Programme content reflects growth and the broad nature of International Tourism. Tourism related revenue contributes annually some $3.6 trillion to the world economy, which is the equivalent to 8% of world exports and 11% of the world’s GDP. Currently over 200 million people are employed worldwide in tourism related employment; the equivalent of 8% of the global workforce.The International Tourism Management pathway is designed to support that economy in light of London 2012 and beyond. The programme incorporates many established areas of management, such as marketing and finance, but also will focus on customer service and operations excellence, and strategic management.

Which modules will I study?

The degree comprises of 18 modules taken over three levels of study. International Tourism Management Modules include:

Can I study a Combined Honours Programme as a Part-time degree?

All our Combined Honours Programmes can be studied on a Part-time or Full-time basis. As a Part-time student, you will study the same degree programme, but at a slower pace. You will study up to 4 modules per year (instead of 6 as a full-time student).

The International Tourism Management programme is designed to support future careers in the tourism and leisure sectors. The programme provides a broad understanding of tourism and the opportunity to focus on specific areas including cultural tourism, sports and event tourism, destination development and planning, and visitor attractions. It prepares graduates for employment in a wide range of public, private and not-for profit organisations in tourism and related industries such as culture, sport, events, hospitality and leisure.

Tourism is recognised globally as one of the largest industries and is expected to continue to grow in the future, thus offering many job opportunities in the UK and abroad ranging from managers, researchers and marketers to planners, agents and consultants. 

Entry Requirements

280 UCAS tariff points (including two passes at A2 level) plus GCSE Maths and English grade C.

How do I apply?

If you wish to study with us full-time from September, you will need to make your application via UCAS (www.ucas.ac.uk).

If you wish to study with us part-time you can obtain an application form from our admissions department study@uel.ac.uk or apply on-line.
