Methods in Dialogue

An ESRC-funded seminar series, organised by the Docklands Research Institute and the Centre for Narrative Research, University of East London, 2003-5

The Methods in Dialogue seminar series is a discussion forum focussed on 5 day events during 2003-5. These events will explore 'dialogic' research - research that examines interactions between researchers and research participants, and that explores sociological, historical, methodological and disciplinary influences on the research process.

Contributors will include social researchers from universities and policy and community settings, as well as policy-makers, advocates and activists. Graduate students as well as academics are welcome. Non-seminar attenders are also encouraged to get involved through our elist.

The project aims:

  1. to develop detailed understandings of particular research projects' dialogic work and
  2. to negotiate a common conceptual vocabulary across the 'Methods in Dialogue' within the series.
