Our Placement Team's objective is to promote and encourage our students' employability both during their course and after graduation. Taking a year out to do a placement has proved to be highly beneficial for our students, leading to successful employment after graduating. A placement proves to any future employer that you already have the skills necessary in the workplace, a highly valuable asset that most non-placement graduates do not have.
The Placement Team undertakes placement preparation sessions aimed at providing you with the skills necessary for success when securing a suitable placement. These skills are transferable skills which will be equally applicable to your search for employment after graduation and include the ability to write CV, writing covering letters, completing application forms, sourcing a placement, interview techniques and issues surrounding health and safety.
The minimum period of a placement is 48 weeks full time employment.
“My work placement has given me that valuable experience so many employers are asking for. It has allowed me to develop new skills which I would not have learnt at University, and these can be added to my CV”.
“My work placement gave me an across the board view of a business and the requirements of that business. This experience is invaluable for my learning curve and CV”.
“I am pleased to say that the last student placement was nominated and short-listed for the trainee for the Trainee of The Year and they will start with us full-time at the end of their studies”.
“The student was incredibly keen and adaptable and has proven to be very difficult to replace”.
“They help the organisation by introducing new ideas or ways of doing things which increase productivity”.
