May FestTeaching Programmes

Staff of the Centre for Institutional Studies lead the folllowing School programmes:

MA/Postgraduate Diploma/Postgraduate Certificate in Public and Community Service.

The Public and Community service programme is  for people working in public or community services, interested in enhancing both the service and their own professional capabilities. It is suitable for those in the UK and in other countries, in local, national or international government, non-governmental organisations and community-based organisations. It offers to enlarge and share professional knowledge, widen understanding and improve management skills.

MA/Postgraduate Diploma/Postgraduate Certificate in Voluntary Sector Studies.

The Voluntary Sector Studies programme has been developed to help people involved in voluntary and community organisations improve their professional capabilities. It offers to enhance professional knowledge, widen understanding, improve management skills, and build up a network of contacts in the voluntary and community sector.

BA (Hons) Social Enterprise

The BA (Hons) Social Enterprise has been created to build professional and organisational capabilities, of an entrepreneurial nature, within the social sector. It helps develop 'core capabilities', to prepare the student to be enterprising within an enterprising third sector. It offers skills and knowledge to investigate social problems, to develop proposals for action, and to work as individuals, in groups and within organisations. It is primarily aimed at practitioners within the voluntary and community sector.
