There are hundreds of business network events held in London every month – some for women only, some open to one and all. So we’ve put together a calendar of the best events in town, tailored for women business owners and entrepreneurs.
During 2012, UEL will be hosting a number of events to support the development of CEWE. Events currently planned are as follows:-
These quarterly events are based upon themes that represent key challenges faced by aspiring women entrepreneurs. Each event will feature guest speakers who will talk about how they have overcome these challenges and provide an open forum for Friends of Women Entrepreneurship (FWEs) to debate and propose how CEWE can address these issues.
If you'd like to come along to a CEWE event, please email our Project Officer Danielle Sheerin: cewe@uel.ac.uk
City Business Library hosts regular events and seminars to support entrepreneurs that are free to attend. For more information on upcoming events visit the City Business Library Events Listing
If you think your network should be listed here, e-mail cewe@uel.ac.uk.
And remember to come back in a few weeks. Business networks never stand still...
1. Does the event match your business profile? Look at the website, talk to network members and decide if it’s aimed at your kind of business.
2. Will you make the right connections? Either people who can directly grow your business or people who can make targeted introductions.
3. Will the format work for you? Would you prefer structured networking, like a round table or speed networking event, or open networking where you can target the people you want to meet?
4. Will you be noticed? If the event is likely to attract others who do what you do, should you stand your ground or find an event where there’s less competition?
5. Is it practical? Networking events happen at all hours of the day and night, so does it fit in with your personal life – not just as a one-off, but as a possible long-term commitment?
