In the last 12 months we have been approached by Milan Polytechnic and Vienna TU as partners in joint EU sponsored projects in teaching and researching computing in architectural and urban systems, though the former had to be declined due to financial implications and the very short notice we were given to prepare a case for collaboration.
These proposals were:
CECA has been awarded £60,000 to run a project to explore the potential of generative modelling in urban regeneration and plnning with partners from July 2007 for 12 months. or partners are AEDAS, Centre for Geospatial studies UEL, The London Broroughs of Newham and Thames Gateway, and the AVA project office.

We have developed links to practice, firstly by helping Simlab to prepare an offering for architects in the region (see enclosed flyer), and Christian Derix has recently taken up a position at an architectural studio (Aedas architects), where he is putting into practice the ideas developed over the years at UEL CECA. Aedas have recently agreed to

sponsor the MSc Computing & Design at the AVA exhibition , and to contribute to the costs of posters and other publicity material for the programme.
