Post compulsory education and training (PCET), also known as the Learning and Skills sector covers further education colleges, sixth form colleges, teaching in adult education institutions and training in the workplace.
There is a particular focus on how to respond to, and meet the needs of diverse adult learners, 14-19 year olds or mature students. The programmes also equip you with foundation skills, knowledge and education theory.
Our excellent partnerships with colleges help you to establish your teaching career and our programmes were judged to be Good with Outstanding Features by Ofsted (2010). We have also been recognised by Ofsted as having exceptionally strong partnerships, deliver 'outstanding' training sessions and have a 'vibrant, highly productive' team of tutors and administrative staff dedicated to quality teacher training provision.
There are two PCET courses offered - the 'Professional Graduate Certificate in Education' (PGCE PCET) route, and the 'Certficate in Education' (PCET) route.
