Brief biography

Wayne is a Senior lecturer on the MA in Education. He joined UEL at the start of the 2008-09 academic year, firstly as an English tutor on the Primary PGCE, and then as a tutor on the MA in Education. He has worked in a number of primary schools in London and also spent a number of years teaching overseas. He has worked on ITT courses at the Institue of Education, University of London and Roehampton University. He has completed an MA in the Learning and Teaching of Reading and Writing.

Activities and responsibilities

Wayne tutors on the MA in Education across all modules, is also involved in the delivery of the school’s Continuing Professional Development work with local schools.

Areas of Interest/Summary of Expertise

Wayne is interested in the reading process and how it is taught. This has focused on Guided Reading. He is also interested in Assessment.

Currently studying for a PhD which investigates how children comprehend text.
