Activities and responsibilities

Tracie has 25 year expereince in the statutory and voluntary youth work sectors. As Fieldwork Director for London Union of Youth Clubs and then Operations Director at London Youth, a pan London youth work charity and Interim Policy and Communications Director for the National Association of Clubs for Young People.

Having started in formal education as a teacher, Tracie moved into youth and community work as a part time worker and quickly realised that the informal education field suited her. She moved on to manage local authority youth and community centres and later to manage areas. With a great deal of face to face experience with young people, Tracie delivered innovative projects in crime diversion and diversity, communication and intercultrual areas. She also has an interest in therapeutic provison for children and young people and is a qualified Therapist.

Tracie is Vice Chair of  VOICE and Chair of Starting with a Blank Page. She is also a trustee of a Kasama Krafts, a social action charity in the Philippines.

Tracie has an MA in Youth and Community Studies from Brunel Univeristy and is currently researching for a Doctorate in investment youth work there. Tracie writes a regular column in Children and Young People Now the professional youth work magazine and is a fellow of the RSA.
