Brief biography

Prithvi was trained as a special needs teacher and started his career in the autism unit of a special school. He developed a passion for autism and worked in special schools as the Head of the autism unit, and Head of the further education department. He worked in mainstream schools as an advisory teacher for autism where he helped the teachers to differentiate the curriculum and delivered training to parents and professionals.

He worked in residential and supported living services for people with learning disabilities and autism, and for national and regional autism and disability related charities. Prithvi taught on an initial teacher’s training programme for special needs and worked as a regional tutor for the distance learning in autism. He worked as a consultant delivering training on autism related subjects, developing toolkits, and researching.

Prithvi is also interested in supervising students who would like to pursue postgraduate research in autism spectrum or special educational needs.

Areas of Interest/Summary of Expertise

Prithvi is specifically interested in autism spectrum. He is also intersted in the cultural perceptions of disability, teaching strategies for social skills in autism, gender and sexuality and autism, and working in collaboration with parents.
