Brief biography

I trained as a teacher in South London and I have taught in London for more than 40 years. I initially qualified to teach children aged 9-13 by taking a BEd degree in Natural Science and I have continued to develop my knowledge of educational theory and practice through studying for the four year diploma in Reading Development and modules on Mathematics teaching from the Open University.  I completed the certificate in Early Childhood Education at Froebel College and I am a trained Reading Recovery teacher.  I have taught across the nursery and primary age range.  Before coming to work at UEL I was Headteacher of a 100% bilingual school in Tower Hamlets.  I have a special interest in Early Years Education and EAL issues.
