I taught Languages in Inner London State schools for the majority of my 26 year teaching career apart from 4 years spent teaching in an International School in Hong Kong.

I was a Head of Department in two schools before obtaining Advanced Skills Teacher status in 2005.

In my role as an AST, I taught French in a local Primary school, trained a Teaching assistant to be able to deliver Language lessons, observed & mentored NQTs in various schools & continued in my role as a school based mentor for Goldsmiths' College Secondary PGCE programme.

I began working at UEL in September 2007. I am programme leader for the PGCE and GTP Secondary ML programme.  During my 5 years at the University of East London, I have trained people to be teachers of Bengali, Arabic, Modern Hebrew, Russian, Italian, Spanish, German & French.

I am responsible for all aspects of the Secondary PGCE & GTP ML programme including the planning, delivery and evaluation of these programmes. I am also involved in planning and delivering Mentor Training Sessions and Subject Knowledge Enhancement courses.

I am also involved with the Newham Partnership for Complementary Education.
