Prior to joining UEL, Ann taught in a number of schools in London Boroughs During this time Ann was an Acting Headteacher, a Deputy Headteacher, a co-ordinator for, mathematics, ICT, music and and staff development. She was Director of a company publishing mathematics books and running INSET for teachers from 1990-1992 and a consultant for the QCA Key Stage 2 SATs Mathematics. Ann’s first degree is in psychology. She has a Masters in Education Management and a Diploma in Drama in Education. Ann is a trained Ofsted Inspector of Primary schools and has worked as an Additional Inspector for Initial Teacher Training (mathematics).
Since joining UEL in 1992, Ann has led the mathematics team on the Primary PGCE, been the Admissions and Partnership tutor. Ann became PGCE Primary Programme Leader and Co-ordinator of Teacher Education in 1997. Ann was part of the development team for the original the MA Education and the Secondary PGCE mathematics programme.
As a member of the Unviersity Council for the Education of Teachers Executive Committee, Ann has worked with the NCSL and the Teaching Agency on developing the Teaching School model.
Ann was a member of the Skills Test Review Panel in 2012.
The promotion, development and marketing of the School on a national and international basis; the formulation of academic and business plans; the leadership, management and operation of the school, the continued enhancement of academic standards; the promotion of research and income general; the financial planning, resource allocation, monitoring and budgeting; human resource planning, deployment, management and development of staff; health and safety and equality of opportunity.
