New Beginnings 2

New Beginnings 2 is a UEL validated programme to help you to move on to a university degree. It helps you to learn the skills for degree level study as well as giving you an insider’s view of university life so you can decide whether it’s right for you.

New Beginnings 2 has been designed by the University of East London to:

  • Develop your skills for degree level study
  • Give you an opportunity to experience university life
  • Provide an opportunity to use UEL learning facilities
  • Meet and work alongside students in a university environment
  • Find out how you can fit university study into a busy life
  • Help you make an informed choice about which course is the right one for you

New Beginnings 2 is a 14-week intensive course. You’ll attend one day each week during selected weekdays, evenings or on a Saturday at locations including UEL Stratford and Docklands Campuses, and the Barking Learning Centre. The course prepares you for degree level study and consists of tutor led sessions, learning materials and assignments for you to work on at home. Your work will be assessed by a university tutor.

The programme is divided into two modules: 20 Level 0 credits and 20 Level 1 credits.

A successful New Beginnings 2 student says, “having gained the confidence and refined my skills through the New Beginnings 2 course I now intend to achieve a degree at the University of East London”.

The programme costs £180 in 2011/2012. You can apply now to start in January 2012.

Application to this programme is via a short test and interview with one of our IAG Advisers based in at our Information, Advice and Guidance centres in Barking, Thurrock and at our Stratford Campus.
