The UNIVERSITY OF EAST LONDON has helped create the exiting new Barking Learning Centre (BLC) - a unique opportunity to develop your skills easily and locally. Developed in partnership with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, its Adult College and Barking College, this landmark building is right in the heart of the town centre. Here UEL offers you everything from tasters and short courses to foundation degrees and career development courses in a relaxed and accessible setting within your own community. Students with children of all ages are invited to one-on-one advice via our Student Support teams, who are able to give information and advice on grants and entitlements, and also flexible learning to enable you to find the best route into learning.
Staff and students with children below school age can benefit from our convenient campus nursery, the Children’s Garden Early Years Centre, which is located on the Docklands campus. Further information.

You can apply for a place in our Student Village irrespective of the campus you study at. Demand for places can be high, in which case priority is given to first-time students, those who live furthest away from UEL, students coming from overseas, and students with disabilities.

En-suite single: study-bedroom in a cluster flat with shared kitchen/dining area
En-suite enhanced single: as above but with larger study bedroom
Studio flat: self-contained study-bedroom with integrated kitchenette and en-suite shower room En-suite large kitchen: as above but with larger integrated kitchen/diner.
Our Residential Services team is available all year round to help you find somewhere suitable to live, both on and off campus.
On the Docklands Campus the main restaurant is called The Edge; on the Stratford Campus, Le Café on the Green and The Buzz Bar; at Duncan House, the Duncan House Refectory. All restaurants are open for breakfast and lunch, offering hot food and snacks catering for all tastes and dietary needs. Our cafés offer freshly ground speciality coffees, tempting cakes, pastries & sandwiches, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks and light meals.
24-hr vending machines can be found at various points around both campuses.
