Brief biography

Shampa received a PhD in Economics from the University of Birmingham in 1998. She then went on to work as an Assistant Professor in Economics at the American University in Cairo. Her duties there included  teaching in the areas of macroeconomics, microeconomics and development economics. She joined the University of East London in February 2003 as a Lecturer in the Finance, Economics and Accounting field. Her research interests are in macro and monetary economics.
