Brief biography

Angela is a senior specialist in the Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure sector with experience in private sector business consultancy.  She is currently employed on a part-time basis as a Senior Lecturer at the University of East London (UEL) having previously worked for Deloitte in the corporate finance and “niche” hospitality consultancy practices.  Angela has a successful record of employing entrepreneurial solutions built on excellent knowledge of the geographic, cultural and commercial factors that influence today’s business environment.  Examples of business development and project management assignments undertaken by Angela include;

  • Successfully identified and converted opportunities to win sale mandates. An example of which was being invited to tender, and being appointed, to sell a portfolio of 18 UK based hotels with a transaction value in the range of £200m.
  • Managed a diverse multi-office team to deliver a complex commercial due diligence report to a multi-party client.  The assignment involved the proposed acquisition of a 75 unit US hotel chain by a UK investor and required joint management of a cross continent team of c. 50 staff to ensure a credible deliverable was provided to the client.  The assignment earned the firm in excess of US$1.5m fees.
  • Managed or undertook over 100 market reviews; feasibility studies and hotel valuations.  These each involved analysis and evaluation of third party information (hotel performance reports; economic reviews and forecasts; tourism trends etc) and original research programmes through questionnaires and interview programmes.

Angela has travelled extensively during her career and has a strong understanding of the challenges facing businesses in both developed and emerging economies.  Prior to her consultancy career, Angela worked in the hotel sector in the UK, Ireland and Germany.
