Adrian joined RDBS in 2008. He holds a PhD in Management from Cass Business School and a Masters (with Distinction) from London Business School. Prior to becoming an academic he was a management consultant with Price Waterhouse. He has co-authored two books; the most recent, Strategic Management: Theory and Application, was published by Oxford University Press in 2008.
Adrian is the Programme Leader for the BA in International Business, and the module leader for the undergraduate Strategic Management module. He oversees curriculum development for the Royal Docks Business Schhol.
Adrian's PhD related to strategic decision making. He has more recently published in areas relating to firms' adoption of socially responsible strategies and to the strategic management of micro-enterprises.
The modules on which Adrian teaches are core to most of the business and management programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, including the MBA, the MSc International Business Management, the BA Business Management and the BA International Business.
How strategic management works at the level of micro-enterprises - firms with 5 or fewer employees. I am part of a group of researchers examining such firms in the fashion design industry. I also have an interest in sustainablity and corporate responsibility, which is the focus of my most recent publication:
Haberberg, A., Gander, J., Rieple, A., Helm, C. and Martin-Castilla, J. I. (2010) 'Institutionalizing idealism: The adoption of CSR practices', Journal of Global Responsibility, 1(2), pp. 366-381
