Abdullah Sheikh is a Senior Lecturer in International HRM at UEL. Abdullah has had fifteen years of working experience in the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, China and Pakistan. This includes nearly ten years of full time academic/teaching experience in prestigious business schools in different parts of the world, such as the Nottingham University Business School (Both UK and China Campuses). Prior to entering a vigorous career path in academia, his background encompasses rich and varied experiences which have utilised human resource management principles in corporate settings in both the United States and Pakistan.
Abdullah majored in Human Resource Management and Management Information Systems when he earned his two MBA degrees from the Kennesaw State University, USA, in 1997 and 1998 respectively. He received his PhD, in 2009, from the Nottingham University Business School, University of Nottingham in the area of Human Resource Management. Abdullah’s research areas include Human Resource Management, Employment Relations and Organisational Behaviour. He has authored a book, published articles in reputed HRM journals and has presented his research in a number of well established conferences.
Responsible for leading MBA, MA and MSC modules/courses in HRM
Supervise PhD students and research dissertations at both UG and PG levels
