Following a £110 million investment programme, the University of East London's new Royal Docks Business School building opened on the waterfront of the Royal Albert Dock in summer 2006. Located in the heart of London’s Docklands, the Royal Docks Business School is part of the rapid commercial development of this area of London and of the wider Thames Gateway region. The School benefits from its proximity to the Canary Wharf business district, now home to many of London’s largest head offices. It is also very close to the site of the London 2012 Olympics and is in an area currently buzzing with commercial life through numerous small and medium sized enterprises in media, communications, arts, fashion as well as in more traditional industries. It is well-connected by road and rail, with a station immediately adjacent to the campus allowing easy access to the City and West End of London. London’s City Airport is just across the water from the Royal Docks Business School and a few stops away via the Docklands Light Railway. There is also good access to the roads and railways leading out of London.
