Learning & Teaching Lunchtime Discussion Forums 2010/11

The Lunchtime Discussion Fora series aims to give colleagues the opportunity to discuss and share ideas in an informal atmosphere. It is open to all colleagues with an interest in learning, teaching and assessment issues.

They are held at both Stratford and Docklands Campuses and a buffet lunch is provided.

Field & Programme Leaders Event – Semester B 2008/09

As part of our ongoing programme of developing excellence in learning, teaching and assessment it is our practice to host an annual event for Programme and Field Leaders. The event took place on Wednesday 20th May 2009 and Friday 22nd May 2009 at the Museum of Docklands, West India Quay, London E14.

Learning & Teaching Committee

The UEL Learning and Teaching Committee reports to the Academic Board, it has a number of aims including

To promote and develop the key themes and activities of the Learning and Teaching Strategy and the planning monitoring and evaluation of their institutional impact
To promote good practice and to champion enhancement and innovation in learning, teaching assessment and curriculum development
To develop and implement processes and procedures to enable improvement and innovation in learning, teaching assessment and curriculum development
To recommend to Academic Board policy in relation to the student learning experience
To have responsibility for monitoring implementation of institutional initiatives in Learning and Teaching
Identify and disseminate good practice throughout the institution
To inform institutional policy in the light of developments in the areas of learning, teaching and learning support arising from the work of national agencies such as the Higher Education Academy, QAA and HEFCE
To develop and implement responses to national initiatives in areas that impact of learning and teaching
To promote and support scholarship in learning and teaching

The committee is chaired by the Director of Learning and Teaching and its membership includes School and Service Leaders in Learning & Teaching. The committee is serviced by Officers from Quality Assurance & Enhancement.
