Our Service Standards
We will provide you with a welcoming, polite, and professional service at all times
We will maintain impartiality, confidentiality and adhere to UEL Policy and Procedure and the Data Protection Act at during our contact and work with you
We will answer all calls to our office numbers within 4 rings during office hours (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm)
We will respond to all routine voicemail and email enquires within 3 working days and when a member of staff is out of the office, we will offer alternative contact details
If we need to consult others with regards to your query, we will email or telephone you to acknowledge your enquiry within 3 working days. We will follow up your enquiry within 10 working days
We will regularly review and update our web pages, UEL Plus site and other portals of information
UEL’s Professional Standards Framework (PSF)
- We will acknowledge receipt of any completed application form within 3 working days
- Following a Main Panel at which decisions are reached, applicants will be informed within 10 working days of the decision
UEL Learning Enhancement Opportunities (LEOs)
- We will acknowledge receipt of LEO project proposals within 3 working days
- Following the meeting of LEO Panels at which decisions are made, decisions will be circulated within 10 working days
- Following confirmation of ethical approval being granted, we will inform Financial Services within 3 working days to obtain the details of the funding allocation
UEL Teaching Fellowship Scheme
- We will acknowledge receipt of completed UEL Teaching Fellowship Claim Forms within 3 working days
- Following receipt of all feedback and decisions from the UEL Teaching Fellowship Selection Panel, feedback and decisions will be circulated to claimants within 10 working days
- We will forward details of the UEL TF Funding Allocation to all successful claimants within 10 working days
- We will inform successful claimants of the presentation ceremony at the Annual Learning & Teaching Conference
Learning & Development Activities including the Staff Mentoring Scheme
- All learning, development and enhancement opportunities will be promoted university wide to all staff via email, posters and through our web pages
- All staff will be emailed course booking confirmation details, within 3 working days of contacting APSE
- All delegates will receive comprehensive joining instructions at least 7 working days before the course delivery date
- We will acknowledge receipt of all applications for mentoring within 3 working days and will match a Mentee to a Mentor (where available and possible) within 30 working days from receipt of application
Lecturers Development Programme
- We will acknowledge receipt of LDP applications within 3 working days
- We will inform applicants of the outcome of their applicationswithin 10 working days
- We will advertise the opening and closing dates for applications for the LDP to all staff,
twice a semester using a range of media
Academic Integrity
- We will deal impartially and confidentially with all instances of suspected misconduct referred to the office
- We will actively promote the concept of academic integrity and inform students and staff of the steps the University takes to prevent and deal with academic misconduct
- We will seek to resolve all instances of suspected misconduct referred to the office as quickly as is consistent with UEL’s Academic Misconduct Regulations
- After an Investigating Panel, we will inform both the student and presenter of the case of the outcome within 2 working days
- After an Investigating Panel, a paper and electronic copy of the Panel Report will be sent to relevant parties within 30 days.
Student Liaison Officers
- We will offer students contact via email, phone, and/or face to face, with the aim of listening to student issues and successfully resolving them
- We will respond to student questions or concerns through email or telephone within 3 working days and will maintain regular contact with students whilst their query is being dealt with and will liaise with key staff members on the students’ behalf
- We will offer regular for face to face consultations
- We will advertise our contact details using a range of media
