THE CALL FOR THE 2013/14 LEARNING ENHANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES (LEO) PROJECTS IS NOW OPEN
Learning Enhancement Opportunities (LEO) project grants offer colleagues an opportunity to innovate and evaluate aspects of academic practice that are relevant to learning, teaching and assessment. LEOs offer a vehicle by which colleagues (individually or in teams) may advance innovations in learning and teaching, by undertaking a small scale, one year project. The structure to be adopted in 2013-14 will differ from previous years following discussions and agreement reached by the UEL Learning and Teaching Committee (LTC).
Key aspects of the process remain unchanged:
However, for 2013-14 funding of up to £10,000 will be offered for 1 project only which demonstrates an innovative approach to addressing the key aspect of Student Engagement. This call is open to UEL colleagues who are Associate Fellows, Fellows, Senior Fellows or Principal Fellows of the Higher Education Academy.
There is a specific intention, conditional upon the findings of the successful LEO proposal, that the project will become an institutional wide project, within the work of the Outstanding Student Experience Programme Board, thereby offering the potential for further funding and development.
In the first instance, expressions of interest are requested. An abstract of no more that 300 words must be submitted by 5pm on 10th April 2013 to Dallas Alexandrou d.j.alexandrou@uel.ac.uk. The template for expressions of interest can be accessed via the link below:
2013-14 LEO Expressions of Interest
A LEO Panel, consisting of members of the UEL LTC will shortlist from initial expressions of interest and will then invite those selected to submit a full bid.
