Moodle Staff Development

We are providing a number of Moodle staff development sessions.

Introduction to Moodle

There is a short pre-session task to be completed before you come. The session is 2 hours in length but you can choose whether to attend the first, second or both hours depending on your previous experience. Just turn up at the appropriate time.

Part 1: Basic Navigation and Course Structuring

Suitable for complete beginners and those with limited experience of Moodle editing, it covers:

  • Navigating between and within Moodle courses
  • Choosing the correct structure for your module
  • Using the UEL core template for Moodle
  • Adding basic content e.g. files, images, urls

Part 2: Communications, Importing and more advanced editing

Suitable for those who have already attended a session but need a refresher or have some experience of Moodle at another institution, it covers:

  • Adding more functionality e.g. pages, labels, highlighting, Turnitin links, blocks
  • Messaging and discussion forums
  • Enrolling  other staff
  • Tracking students and using the Grade Book
