| Overview | This staff development session focuses on the use of the Assessment tools in UEL Plus for formative and summative assessment. After a general introduction to online assessment participants get hands-on experience of creating different types of assessment i.e. quizzes, self-tests, and surveys, setting delivery options and managing results. |
Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the purpose of the different types of assessment and question formats available in UEL Plus.
- Carry out all the steps necessary to create an assessment, namely:
- Create a question category.
- Create several questions using at least two different question types and save in specific category of Question Database.
- Create an assessment (quiz, self-test or survey) consisting of questions from question database.
- Set availability and other delivery criteria for the assessment.
- Make assessments visible to students and ensure appropriate display of results and feedback.
- View submissions and reports for quizzes and surveys and download to a spreadsheet.
- Define the role of the Grade Book and My Grades.

Group Session
This staff development session can be delivered as a standalone session for a small group (between 4-8 participants). If you are interested in arranging a standalone session for a team or department please email elearning@uel.ac.uk with details of the session(s) you are interested in.
Individual Session
If you are interested in attending a centrally organised session please email elearning@uel.ac.uk with details of the session you are interested in. Depending on individual interest we will endeavour to run at least one session a semester.
