What happens next?

Before we match you to a mentee you will need to attend the compulsory training for mentors (see the Training and Opportunities tab for more details).

Once matched, Peer Mentors are emailed with their Mentee’s details. Its then up to the Mentor to email their Mentee within 7 days and arrange the first meeting. Mentors and Mentees meet for one hour a week for the first month, then an hour every two weeks, you can text or message or email in between.

During mentoring, Peer Mentors will also need to complete a mentoring log which will allow us to keep track of the mentoring relationships and attend a review meeting with the Scheme Coordinators at least once a semester - and that's it!

We match mentors and mentees by using the following criteria ...

  • What School the mentor and mentee are in
  • What course the mentor and mentee are studying
  • Whether either mentor or mentee have any preferences regarding age or gender

Our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) can give you more information about applying and the scheme in general or you can telephone 0208 223 6514
