What is Peer Mentoring?

A Peer Mentor is an individual who can offer guidance, support and knowledge to enable a mentee to settle into a new environment. As they are a 2nd or 3rd year student they are already a few steps ahead in their university career so are able to do this.

Mentoring can be conducted through face to face meetings, email or e-mentoring, messaging and text to offer support to the mentee through sharing their own experiences and ideas, answering questions and offering encouragement.

There are so many benefits to being a Mentor or Mentee such as developing loads of transferable skills, meeting new people and building your confidence as well as gaining some great experience for thier CV.
