Our approach to academic integrity is based upon the values of:
As members of the University of East London, both staff and students, we are all committed to these values and any work that you submit for publication, presentation or assessment must reflect them.
As a student you will be taught how to write correctly referenced essays using UEL's standard Harvard referencing system from Cite Them Right (and how to compile bibliographies) in the study skills modules that are included in your programme of study. If you feel that you are at all uncertain about what is expected of you in your written work, it is your responsibility to seek guidance.
The University does not tolerate academic dishonesty.
To do so would be unfair to the overwhelming majority of our students who uphold the values of academic integrity. It is our responsibility to protect the credibility of the qualifications our students earn.
Breaching Academic Integrity in any form of assessment puts your academic career at risk.
