Julian Hargreaves is an Academic Development Manager in Academic Practice and Student Experience. He contributes to the development implementation of strategy, policy and practice with regard to the university's learning and teaching culture and associated student experience. His current responsibilities are to lead the Teaching Enhancement Agenda at UEL as well as contributing to the support and development of academic staff during their probationary year and beyond.
Julian has been a senior lecturer in Higher Education since 1997. He started teaching as a lecturer practitioner in higher education and healthcare. His areas of particular interest are student and academic transitions into higher education, learning, teaching and assessment in the workplace and sociocultural perspectives on learning. He is a UEL Teaching Fellow and is currently completing his Doctorate of Education on learning through participation in professional practice.
