Gosia Nowicka
2002 BSc (Hons) Information Technologies and Psychosocial Studies
Current Occupation:
Research Centre Manager, Rix Centre
Gosia Nowicka took her BSc in Information Technologies in Psychosocial Studies at UEL because it was the only local university with that combination. She was a young mother living in Barking. She did her undergraduate degree up to 2002 in Barking and the Docklands campus of UEL. As a third year undergraduate she worked in technical support for the e-learning courses and as a student assistant in the library.

She is now Research Centre manager at the Rix Centre. She coordinates the teaching, training and research. The most important parts of her work are the organisation skills she needs and the soft skills needed. “It is not really about the technical skills or the knowledge. It is the soft skills which are key, software skills such as empathy,” she says.
Gosia took her MA at UEL in Multimedia Theory and Practice from 2002 to 2004. During it she taught Introduction to IT systems Design. After her MA she moved to the Rix Centre promoting multimedia advocacy courses and events.
