Programme summary for Cert HE Creative Musicianship

The Cert HE Creative Musicianship focuses on developing students’ creativity and expressing their own unique ‘creative identity’ through performances and multimedia collaborations along with the development of musicianship, music business and performance skills.

The programme is delivered with more contact hours than similar courses on offer and you will learn from, and interact with, a staff of leading educators, musicians and other professionals from the wider creative arts and the music industry.

About the Programme

This is a performance based Programme designed to stimulate the development of your unique creative identity. This, along with the development of your musicianship, music technology, performance and music industry skills should give you the tools needed to exploit your creative ability and enjoy an entrepreneurial ‘portfolio career’ in the ever changing music industry.

The modules studied are based on ‘real-world’ scenarios, and you will be challenged to use your creativity to produce work to meet typical music industry briefs as well as focusing on your own projects. Given the nature of this programme, the end products of the creative projects you undertake are rarely prescribed in exact detail, but rather defined by more flexible frameworks. This means that while there are a lot of opportunities for you to go in your own desired creative directions, there are also a lot of demands for you to take responsibility for working independently to meet deadlines.
