Brief biography

I was rewarded the Fellowship to the Higher Education Academy in 2011. As Programme Leader for Contemporary Art and Visual Media undergraduate degree, in the Visual Theories Department based at Docklands campus, I have opportunties to develop the programme and allow students to explore the historical and contemporary art scene. My academic history from undegraduate, postgardautae and as lecturer has focused on contemporary art.

Areas of Interest/Summary of Expertise

Artists and designers working with digital technology especially with computers is one of my main interest. I have also written about other forms of contemporary art and I am very much involved in the practical processes surrounding the cultural and creative industries.

Other scholarly activities

I am external examiner on the Art History Programme at John Moores Liverpool University, I am assoicate editor for the Journal Technology, Knowledge and Society and reviewer for Chart (Computer Art History). I am involved with Startford Rising Committee and Newham New Deal Partnership. I am still involved in collobaorating with public galleries and other universities to allow UEL students to be involved in exhibitions in public institutions.
