Brief biography

Maciej Hrybowicz runs the Media Production Services (MPS) for the School of Arts and Digital Industries. MPS hosts a range of media and multimedia production activities and combines teaching, research and production activities in a state-of-the-art environment giving access to leading edge technologies and the support of highly skilled technical staff. Outside the UEL, Maciej is a musician and a composer as well as a web consultant designing clean, no frills content-managed websites designed to be fully platform independent and viewable with all web browsers. Those skills are very helpful in helping to create a diverse research and production environment of the Media Production Services.

Activities and responsibilities

Maciej's key responsibilities are:

  • Organising the MPS technical facilities which consit of nine Apple/Windows computer labs, the Radio Studio, the Recording Stutio and the MPS Equipment Store.
  • Managing the technical associates and demonstrators who support all MPS users in all areas of expertise.
  • Planning and realising the future technical provision based on the School Plan.
  • Running the Apple network and Apple support for the School.

Areas of Interest/Summary of Expertise

Maciej studied Media, Art and computing, however he spent most of his working life playing music and composing for TV as well as working as a web developer and building Apple networks (ACSA).
