Both these degrees were studied at the University of East London. I am therefore a proud alumni of the institution.
Since joining UEL in 2000 I have undertaken a range of roles and posts from Administrator/ Researcher and Lecturer to UCU trade union officer. I have been in a permanent part-time Lecturer post since 2007 and since then have mainly worked within the Extended Degree programme. I have however worked across all undergraduate Levels and I am currently co-working on the development of a Masters module, Sports Media, Culture and Society, for the new MA Sports Media programme.
I have also:
Chaired: UCU Workshop: Who runs your university? Governance, Democracy and Business Influence in Higher Education. 6th March 2009. University of East London.

External Member, Validation Panel 2006, Level 0 Design and Communication Programme - Ravensbourne College.

I am currently programme leader for the Extended Degrees programme in Humanities and module leader.
My two main areas of interest are:
Higher Education: teaching and learning, widening access and the Political Economy of Higher Education, history of academic trade unions.
Sports, Media and Culture: The Political Economy of Football, relationship between sport and the media, sports rights, women and football.
