UEL students to dance in Olympic closing ceremony

Urban dance student, Charlotte Dutton, along with at least twenty UEL students have been chosen to dance in the Olympic closing ceremony this summer.
Two rounds of auditions attended by thousands of hopefuls were held to find the best dancers from which Charlotte, along with a large group of UEL students, was chosen to perform in the Olympic stadium, in front of the millions of TV viewers across the world, who will watch the 2012 games.
Charlotte said the auditions were ‘nerve wracking’ but is now excited for the once in a lifetime performance opportunity, saying: ‘’It’s an amazing chance to get to perform in one of the biggest stadiums in London.’’
One of Charlotte’s dance lecturers at UEL, Adrienne Heart, said: ‘’It’s great to know the university has students in the Olympic ceremonies. It’s a really good opportunity to represent east London, and for students to showcase their talents."
After finishing her studies for the academic year at UEL in May, Charlotte will have three months of weekly rehearsals in the Olympic stadium, until the closing ceremony in August.
