ADI Teacher of the Year Award 2011-12

Tuesday 18 September 2012

At the end of last academic year, the School ran a call for student nomination of individual teachers whose work has been exceptional in the 2011/12 academic year. We had a good response to this pilot, with many supportive comments from students on the excellence of individual members of staff. I am pleased just before the beginning of the teaching year commences to announce the ADI Teacher of the Year Award 2011-12.

The award will be presented to the winning academic at the ADI Graduation Ceremony later this year, but I am delighted to let you know that Dr Cathy Blackford received the greatest number of positive nominations.

Cathy will receive

  • £300 from the School for her use towards staff development, conference attendance, or similar of her choice.

Her programme [BA (Hons) History] will receive

  • £300 for HPL/Guest Lecture/Field Trip or similar input of her choice

Her field [Cultural Studies and Creative Industries] will receive

  • £300 for use by the Field Leader for HPL/Guest Lecture or similar input of his choice.

I know you will join me in offering Dr Cathy Blackford warmest congratulations on her receipt by student nomination of the ADI Teacher of the Year Award 2011-12.

We will be running this Award again in 2012/13, and publicising it in Semester B of the academic year.
