Welcome to the School of Arts & Digital Industries

The School of Arts & Digital Industries is a vibrant and creative community of students, staff, researchers and alumni.  Our courses cover a broad range of disciplines, from fashion, film, fine art and media, to digital arts and communications, games design and animation, music, theatre and dance, creative writing, cultural and heritage studies, and journalism and advertising. We offer collaborative and entrepreneurial learning experiences and our students and staff produce exciting and ground breaking work supported by the resources of the University and the wider creative community of East London and beyond.

The School provides undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as professional practice opportunities.  Our courses are taught by lecturers who are active and experienced professional practitioners and researchers and we have close links with employers and leading organisations across the arts, cultural and creative industries.  Our students learn in purpose built facilities and we aim to enable students to push boundaries and maximise academic and creative potential so that they are prepared for a rewarding working life.

The School has a strong research and professional practice ethos and is home to a growing community of research students, visiting professors and research partners.   We strongly encourage interdisciplinary and applied research which supports the creative and cultural economy and our staff maintain a high profile through exhibitions, publications, performances and conferences and through our active programme of work with business and the community.
