At the end of last academic year, the School ran a call for student nomination of individual teachers whose work has been exceptional in the 2011/12 academic year. We had a good response to this pilot, with many supportive comments from students on the excellence of individual members of staff. I am pleased just before the beginning of the teaching year commences to announce the ADI Teacher of the Year Award 2011-12.
UEL Masters students in Fashion, Graphic Design and Fine Art will showcase their final pieces in a show at the AVA building at UEL’s Docklands Campus. The exhibition opens with a Private View on Thursday 13 September and will be open to the public from Friday 14 September until Monday 17 September.
The largest composite photograph exhibition consisted of 81,663 photographs and was achieved by Clare Newton and 1200 Children and Adults across London.
Talented fashion designer and University of East London student Marco Duarte has been selected to design costumes for one of author Roald Dahl’s best loved shows -‘Matilda’. The show will be performed by young children aged 10-11years old at Roman Road Primary School in East London and will take place on Thursday 12th July at 6pm with Marco having designing up to 20 of the costumes.
