Dr John Walsh has accrued over 20 years postgraduate experience in civil and geotechnical engineering including work for consultants and contractors and in research and teaching posts.

Experience in contracting includes running own business as specialist sewer construction and maintenance contractor and site management and supervision of civil and geotechnical SI projects.

Experience in consultancy has included production of factual and interpretative engineering reports and geotechnical engineering design including various highway, infrastructure, buildings and ports projects. Detailed design experience includes foundations, piles, slopes, retaining walls, reinforced earth construction and foundation design for offshore jacket structures.

Teaching experience includes teaching civil engineering at undergraduate degree level including specialist software design applications and CAL, teaching mathematics from GCSE to HND level and training adult learners on a business start-up course.
