Johnnes Arreymbi is presently Senior Lecturer at the School of Computing, Information Technology and Engineering, University of East London. He lectures Computer Sciences at both Post graduate and Undergraduate levels in areas such as; Systems Design and Development, Usability Engineering, Information Security, Information Systems Management, Multimedia, Mobile Communications, Networking, Web Development and Technologies and Project Management. He has also taught Computing at London South Bank University, and University of Greenwich, London. He leads as Executive Director and co-founder of eGLobalSOFT, USA; an innovative Patented Software (ProTrack™) Company. Johnnes holds qualifications from University of Wales, Cranfield University, London SouthBank University, University of Greenwich and University of East London. Has been invited speaker and guest speaker at many national and international Universities, and Research forums, working on specialised areas of research and consultancy.
With over 15 years professional experience in industry and academia, he has always worked within the IT domain, as System Analysts amongst many others, more especially in industry for many years and held positions of responsibilities. He has published widely in many areas of Security, Multimedia, Mobile Telecommunication, and related technologies. Johnnes has represented UK as expert on Biometrics Standards / Information Security under BSI and Cyber Security KTN. Has consulted for Industry on Systems for Change Management and Control; also for Government of Cameroon on ICT, Information Security and Cybercrime, Counter Cyber Terrorism Issues and Applied Technologies. He has worked with USAID programme as Team leader on Agricultural project planning, development, implementation and management in Cameroon- West Africa; in conjunction with the Cameroon Ministry of Agriculture (National programme for Development and Planning in Agriculture). He served as Senior Analyst and Statistician.
Professional and Committee member of many industry and government bodies – BCS, IEEE, EEMA, RSA, BSI on Biometrics Standards and Security (IST/44, WG1, WG3, WG4 and WG6); KTN/DTI on Security, Trusted Computing and Human Factors SIGs, WG on User-centric ID Management; and Consortium on E-Crime prevention. He stands as editor, associate editor, and reviewer for many international Computing books, journals and conferences publications; as well as being chair/co-chair of many conferences/tracks on computing and computer applications. Has organised/co-organised many International conferences, seminars and workshops within these domains. He sits as executive, programme/organising committee member for many International conferences, seminars and workshops on areas such as User Centric ID management, Cybernetics, Security and Management (SAM), Data Mining (DMIN), Internet Computing & Computer Games Development (ICOMP), and Advances in Information and Communication Engineering (AICE) etc.
He has co-authored many books and book chapters, Industry white papers and also published well over 50 internationally peer-reviewed journal articles, technical and conference papers on security, Mobile & Multimedia System development, applied computing, Educational technologies and applied ICT. He has also been Keynotes and Invited Speaker for many international, regional and national conferences.Johnnes would like to work, and collaborate or partner with other professionals on any projects of interest.
Presently, Johnnes' interests lies on the "Soft Issues of Technology"; in areas relating to Human Interfacing with Technology (i.e. HCI/Usability Engineering/Human factors); Tele-Communication processes, Information Security, Risk Management & Economics of Security; Cybercrime, Societal and Ethical Issues. Also, Standardisation, Biometrics, Multimedia, Mobie / Information Systems Development, Communication & Management; Web Technologies, Computer Games, Accessibility Issues of Computing; Virtual tools, VLE, Educational Technologies, and applied ICT for Development & Sustainability.
Presently, leader for many Computing modules including but not limited to, Usability Engineering, Multimedia & Web Technologies, Management Information Systems, Project Management, Web System Development, Mobile Computing, and Skills for Computing at the School of Computing, Information Technology and Engineering -UEL.
