Brief Bio: I am a senior lecturer at University of East London (UEL). I studied for my undergraduate degree at the Lebanese American University of Beirut (Lebanon) in Business Computing (1993-97). I went on to complete my Masters in Information System Management at Stirling University in Scotland in 1998. I started teaching with the University of East London in 1999 and completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCert - 2003). In May 2004 I finished my doctorate in E-commerce Web application modelling at the University of East London (2000-04). I am currently PhD supervisor, accredited member of the British Computer Society (MBCS), and programme leader for Foundation Degree Computing and Business Information Technology at UEL. I have over thirteen years experience in higher education. I have International conference publications in Web architecture designs, Green, and Paperless technologies. I am also actively involved in consultancy work in the development of Database Systems and Database-Driven Web applications, including the full development and management of CITE attendance barcode system. I am a keen researcher in the area of green sustainability in IT and paperless teaching. My latest publication has been on a five year study of green paperless teaching at UEL titled: GREEN MODULES FOR SUSTAINABILITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION (INTED, Valencia, Spain -March 2013). My research has shown that as a university we are able to save around £1,500 per module and students are able to save collectively around £2,400 per module. Feedback on students experiences has been positive which are reflected in my last publication. For years I have also been involved in planning and designing variety of projects mainly for small to medium size businesses.
