I have been a Senior Lecturer at UeL since October 2001. Previously I have taught on a part-time basis in a number of Higher Education Colleges both in London and my native Greece. Before commiting to a full time adventure in academia I have worked for manufacturing organizations both in Greece and the UK for nine years in total, utilising both my engineering and computing skills. My most challenging role at UeL so far has been that of taking the BSc (Hons) Computer Games programme off the ground. I have been the programme leader since its launch in 2003 up to the summer of 2006 when the first cohort of students graduated. I have working relationships with staff at the Agricultural University of Athens and the Democritus University of Thrace in Greece and have over the past four years been frequently invited to deliver specialist seminars at these institutions.
I have considerable experience in managing both research and implementation projects within the tough reality of the manufacturing world. In 2001 I was awarded the prestigious Fellowship in Manufacturing Management at Cranfield University. While at Cranfield I had developed my new passion for virtual enterprises and the e-world. This combined with my project management experience led to the theme of my doctoral research at the University of Abertay Dundee. My research interests focus on virtual enetrprises and include: project management and project estimation of Value Added Communities, E-Government and its role in E-Democracy, E-Readiness and its impact on Knowledge Management, Evaluation of Information Systems, and most recently management and evaluation of Computer Games Development projects.
