Submission deadline: 1st Feb 2012
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Extended versions of selected papers will be published as a special edition of the International Journal of Electronic Security and Digital Forensics.
The topics suggested by the conference can be discussed in term of concepts, state of the art, research, standards, implementations, running experiments, applications, and industrial case studies. Authors are invited to submit complete unpublished papers, which are not under review in any other conference or journal in the following, but not limited to, topic areas.
All tracks are open to both research and industry contributions, in terms of Regular papers, Posters, Work in progress, Technical/marketing/business presentations, Demos, Tutorials, and Panels.
Call for Papers:
For all society partners to participate at the University of East London on May 14th and 15th 2012. Cybercrime is an ever-growing social problem that poses new challenges for computer security specialists, legal professionals, academia, public citizens, and law enforcement agencies, regarding the detection, prevention, investigation and prosecution of these criminal activities.
Reducing the opportunities for cybercrime is not a simple task but requires co-operation between many players, and fundamental changes in common attitudes and practices. Computer and network security are often key factors that determine the likelihood of cybercrime, while digital forensics focuses on the detection, evidence gathering and prosecution of offenders.
In this setting, Cyfor-12 is calling.
The list of topics includes (but not limited to):
Submitted papers must be in English, about 8 A4 pages (up to 5000 words), original, unpublished material and should clearly indicate the technical/scientific contribution, and the problems, domains or environments to which it is applicable.

About the conference
This is the 7th annual event of the Advances in Computing and Technology Conference (AC&T) 2012, organised by the School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering at the University of East London.
The conference is an opportunity to celebrate the major contributions that our research staff and students provide in continuing to raise the profile and enhance our research activities within the School.
Papers are provided as either a formal presentation or poster session with the subject content covering all aspects of computing, technology and engineering. AC & T is also about researchers having the opportunity to network and discuss their research interests. Staff, students, guest speakers and invited colleagues will exchange ideas about current activities and new trends in the use of computing, engineering and technology for teaching and research. Another opportunity of the conference is to expand communication within the School about integrating research, emerging technologies and best practice into the higher education curricular in order to support teaching and programme development for the benefit of our new generation of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
With new challenges to develop and enhance research and enterprise coupled with a view of international recognition, this will provide an exciting focus for the process of innovation and invention that will stimulate our young researchers. The AC&T 2012 conference is therefore one of the components in the structure of our School activities towards the development and growth of a research culture at University of East London.
