ACE maintains and operates a number of computing facilities for use by current students and staff.
The School has a fully compliant Professional Qualifiactions Lab (located in the Knowledge Dock building) to compliment the teaching of the CISCO Professional Qualification. The devices and lab are set up to the latest industry standards and allow students to undertake practical tasks as per the approved curriculum. The lab is also used by students on other networking related programmes throughout the school.
There is also another specialist Network Teaching Lab which is also located in the Knowledge Dock building. This lab has been designed and configured with the novice student in mind. Despite this, the equipment therein is state of the art. There are dual boot PCs (Windows and Linux), LAN devices (hubs, switches, and servers), WAN devices (routers) and wireless devices. Several LANs can be created therein and these can be configured into a fully fledged WAN. Software and hardware configurations for this computer lab are extensive. This lab is utilised by students on our computer related programmes and complements the hands-on teaching of network security, computer networks, systems(devices and applications) configurations, operating systems, end-user support and distributed systems.
The computing clusters on the Trading Floor are general purpose and teaching facilities with open access to any current student. These clusters contain primarily the Windows Operating system. The suite of applications supported include:
