Davey collaborated with the Royal College of Art and local residents on a series of personal installations along the Central Park bridge, entitled Inter Alia, the work is based on the concept of ‘leaving your mark’ and features a simplistic piece (to initial appearances at least) comprising a series of aluminium/bronze bell-like objects attached to a wall. The piece comprises 61 individual castings in total stretching over a 91 metre section of wall.
The theme is expressed via the disruption of the wall’s smooth edifice by the brass forms in a very deliberate way. The project has been installed in great secrecy as part of the wider Art in the Park project - an aggregate collection of works by artists and residents to add a festive and creative lustre to the Park.
Grenville said: “I am over the moon with the results and am looking forward to reaction from the public when the Games open in July. The project has been going on since summer 2008, it’s been a long haul, but great fun.”
